Not only the electricity but also the mechanical pressure is concentrated in a small area. I couldn't handle it on the nipple in its purchased state - but fortunately, the coiled band in the middle can be easily "loosened" and "tightened" using double flat nose pliers (e.g. combination pliers) to a force that suits the user.

My favourite nipple electrode. But watch out for the cable, don't pull it. It's held on by that black self-shrinking tube and can be pulled out quite easily (my own experience). Due to the unsolderability of the spring material, repair is basically impossible and the clamp can only be further used with an electrician's crocodile, etc.
